Philipp Werren

Co-Founder

Philipp hadn't had much involvement with cycling before the Africa trip. His most frequented cycling routes had been from home to the train station and back, or to Migros and back. Additionally, he had not had much exposure to Africa either - before! Moreover, he had decided relatively spontaneously to accompany his brother on this trip. It had just happened that way - luckily!

If he hadn't gone on this trip, he would never have had such strong calves, and Africa would still have been a nebulous continent with all the negative aspects like AIDS, war, famine, malaria... The trip had opened his eyes; they had had many beautiful encounters (they had drunk a lot of tea), seen stunning landscapes... The veil had lifted, at least a little, and this continent had captivated him. Perhaps it was the primal, warm-hearted, archaic, fairy-tale-like, and legendary aspects...

He was very happy that they now had three projects running in Africa, and it remained a living connection to this continent. This way, they also stayed in touch with people who wanted to make a difference in Africa. And with a motivation that impressed! At that point, he would also like to thank everyone who had supported their projects and made a big difference with a small contribution.

He wouldn’t want to miss anything, not a single kilometer. The headwind kilometers were just as much a part of it as the super-fast downhill kilometers, or the desert kilometers, the jungle kilometers... And he would set off again immediately - on a new adventure!
